#24in48 July 2018 edition – Summary Post

Aaaaand it’s Readathon again. Thanks to RikeRandom as a motivating factor I decided to once again sign up.

So again, I’m here, writing English, at now almost 7 am, and about to start into up to now 47 hours of reading. (Let’s be honest, I’ll probably won’t make it past 15 hours, but that’s okay.)

So here you’ll find the summary of my challenge answers as well as my reading status, whenever I find the time and the brain to update it. And now, off into battle … err, book.

#24in48 Readathon Summary post

So this year I decided not to go for the 24 hours. I won’t clock my time. Because right now I’m a little ill and I already had to lie down and sleep once after 2 hours of reading – and my concentration is on vacation somewhere other than here, it seems. So I’m rather sure I could not make it to 24 hours of reading time anyway and don’t want to pressure myself with trying. But I still want to read as much as I feel good with this weekend. So here’s my summary of the challenges.

Also ‚lang‘ nach meiner Definition.

#24in48 – Closing Survey

Good morning everyone, it’s already 7 am here in Germany, so my readathon actually ended hours ago. But here’s my Closing Survey:

How many books did you read? Pages? (If you didn’t keep track, tell me that too!)

4 books finished, 2 of them were CRs. Among them 2 audio books. It’s been ~ 13 hours of audio books, but I did not really track that.

I didn’t really keep track of my books either, but thankfully I made updates on my summary post. So I read more or less 700 pages.

How many hours did you read?

24, plus the minutes read in the bathroom that I didn’t track.

What do you think worked well in this readathon? What do you think could be done to improve the readathon for next time?

I don’t know a thing that did not work well. I would love to have more Germans signing up, but that’s nothing you could change and I’m always advertising the ‚thon. Apart from that? It’s been fun, I’ve got no complaints.

Will you participate in a future 24in48 readathon?

SURE!

Thank you all very much and good night, dear American friends. Good morning Europe. On to a new day of reading.

#24in48 – Opening Survey July 2017

So here it is. The opening survey again. Now it really feels like readathon.

  1. Where in the world are you reading from this weekend?
Germany, as always. I should move, so I can finally say something else in this question.
  2. Have you done the 24in48 readathon before?
Yep. It’s my third time at least.
  3. Where did you hear about the readathon, if it is your first?
It isn’t, but back then, I kinda googled readathons as there are none in my country and I just wanted to do one. Never found other internationals then this and the Dewey’s. Are there more?
  4. What book are you most excited about reading this weekend?
I actually trapped myself a bit with a list of books I really want/need to read this summer and swore not to read anything else until I finished off this bloody list. But there are borrowed books on it, that should finally be returned, and a book that’s waiting on the TBR now since 2010.
I guess I’m most excited about ‚The Whizz Pop Chocolate Shop‘ by Kate Saunders. Hopefully I’ll get to reading it as I have 3 books I already started and want to finish first.
  5. Tell us something about yourself.
Well, I just ‚graduaded‘ with my master’s degree in Social Science and now I’m unemployed. I use the time to work on my first novel. 50k words done yesterday, still a few to come.
  6. Remind us where to find you online this weekend.
Mostly I’ll be on twitter (here) and on this blog. Maybe you’ll find a few posts on Instagram (letemeatbooks) or Litsy (taayasbooks), but I always plan to use both and then I stick to Twitter, so better look for me there.

And now have fun reading
